The Agency for Adult Education is a public institution established by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Croatia (Official Gazette 59/06) in May 2006.

TASKS:
- perform analytical and developmental tasks in the field of adult education
- harmonise proposals of professional bodies
- perform professional supervision of the work of adult education institutions
- provide professional advice and counselling services
- provide professional and continuous training of employees in the field of adult education
- provide innovative solutions, monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of adult education programmes
- stimulate cooperation and participation in the implementation of adult education programmes and projects
- maintain a database and provide information to state administration bodies and the relevant ministry on records and other relevant data regarding the monitoring of the state of adult education and its development
- prepare analyses of management processes in adult education
- define criteria for the establishment, implementation and monitoring of systematic financing of adult education with regard to programme, investment and material management
- other tasks as defined by the Decree on the Establishment of the Agency
